“Sometimes you have to forget what you feel and remember what you deserve.”
~ Unknown
We’re often told to trust our feelings, but sometimes that’s bad advice.
If the man or woman who is new to your social circle gives you the creeps, it’s a good idea to go with your gut feelings and be smart about your interactions.
However, when you feel depressed, unlovable, angry at life, stuck in a rut, afraid of new situations, like you’re never going to find love, or like you don’t deserve happiness and abundance…
Forget what you feel and remember what you deserve.
I don’t mean what you feel should come your way. We’re talking about what every human is worthy of experiencing. Things like:
- Dignity
- Kindness
- Love
- Nourishing food
- Clean water
- Shelter
- Healthcare
Every person, without any added qualifications, is worthy of those basics.
There are times when people forget that those experiences are for everyone. We fall prey to the lies that work to convince us that love must be earned, healthcare is only for those with an abundance of wealth, and those who are struggling deserve their lot in life.
However, forgetting doesn’t change what’s true and what isn’t. And the truth is that every human is worthy of the seven basics listed above. Needless hardship and conflict result when we forget those basics.
Can you imagine how different the world would be if we all lived by the “basic seven” from birth to death–if we treated ourselves and everyone else to those values daily?
When you feel that you don’t deserve something, you tend to behave differently. The same is true when you feel that you’re worthy of certain experiences.
Your mind interprets what you feel as truth, and then it goes about making your truth happen for you.
While feelings are an important part of life, it’s still good to check in and make sure that they’re not violating any of the seven basics of human worth. If they’re violating the basics, forget what you feel and remember what you and every living being deserves.
